Hunter Douglas takes window fashion to a whole new level

  • Honeycomb shades from Hunter Douglas

Over the years, since Hunter Douglas developed the world’s first lightweight aluminium venetian blind in 1946, it has consistently refined the art of the window fashion, not just in the aesthetic sense, but in the way light and heat are controlled. One of its most groundbreaking innovations is the patented Duette Architella honeycomb shade.

Engineered as a honeycomb-within-a-honeycomb structure, each shade has three insulating air pockets that help to mediate glare and heat with optimum efficiency. In fact, it is able to reduce energy loss by up to 50 per cent by reducing the heat loading on the air-conditioning system whilst at the same time, reducing the reliance on artificial light during the day. The icing on the cake is the beautiful quality of light that is created as the honeycomb structure diffuses soft, natural daylight into spaces.
