The attention to detail required for working with a small apartment is excruciating. Just ask Mei Teh of design firm Story of Us who was tasked to redesign a home that measures a mere 506sqft.
“Every millimetre counts in a space as small as this and we had to make sure we maximised all available floor area, right down to the minimum space needed for a washing machine – vibrations taken into consideration!” she relates of how she had to be very exacting in her measurements. Add to the challenge a design brief that called for a flat akin to a boutique hotel and Mei had her work cut out for her.
