A combination of carpentry and curved partition walls in different shades of laminates and textured paint finishes give this living room a dark, yet cosy and warm atmosphere – a complete departure from the Scandinavian-style of the previous home that the owners were accustomed to before. The signature archway that is part of the feature wall has added sophistication to the space, while also separating the living room from the bedrooms.
The curved false ceiling adds a unique dimension to the dining space and gives it character. Wrapped in veneer, this ceiling detail imbues the area with a sense of warmth while balancing out the cooler and darker tones of the wall finishes and dining room furniture.
This bedroom combines functionality with comfort by merging it with a study space, built into the stepped platform that houses the adjacent bed. A combination of white laminate and woody finishes makes the room feel simultaneously warm and bright, while the built-in cabinetry minimises clutter by concealing most of the storage behind cabinet doors finished with white laminate to blend with the walls.
The kids’ bedroom places two beds side by side while raising them up on custom-built platforms. While keeping the space simple, playful touches were added to bring some joyful elements to the cosy room and give it a youthful splash of whimsy.
The master bathroom is the epitome of a spa-like oasis, with wooden plank-like tiles that create a setting reminiscent of a sauna. The earth tone continues to the rest of the bathroom, albeit in a larger tile format, creating a continuous progression from the shower area to the sink and vanity space.
The master bedroom makes a deliberately bold statement with its moody tones and textured surfaces. The bed from Poltrona Frau with its combination of leather, wood, saddle leather and fabric bring a sense of luxury and masculine elegance to the dark and sumptuous room. The space is efficiently designed to comfortably accommodate a desk at the side.
