A well-travelled professional in his forties, the homeowner envisioned his Amber Park condo as a reflection of his style, stories, and worldly lifestyle. With a $77,000 renovation budget and a six-week timeline, Intheory Design brought that vision to life – crafting a sleek, gallery-like space with smart storage solutions, seamless transitions, and curated displays for his art and travel artifacts.
To create a more versatile layout, one of the bedrooms was demolished. This allowed the designers to merge the living, dining, and study into an open-plan setting. A monochromatic palette of black, white and grey runs throughout, creating visual cohesion while allowing marble textures and details to take centre stage.
Sleek, low-profile furniture enhances the sense of spaciousness, while day curtains frame the windows with a gentle touch. At the heart of the home is a custom-built display shelf, backlit to highlight the homeowner’s global collection – part storage, part statement piece.
A study nook is tucked into a quiet corner of the living area, fitted with a streamlined desk and a floating shelf that keeps the look clean and minimal. “We wanted the study to blend in effortlessly, with clean silhouettes and concealed storage for a space that supports both relaxation and inspiration,” the design team explains.
While the kitchen retains its original layout and finishes from the developer, it still matches the home’s overall scheme. Its clean lines and neutral tones maintain visual continuity, making it practical for the homeowner’s laid-back approach to dining and entertaining.
In the master bedroom, the monochrome palette continues with soft, tailored touches. A custom curved bedhead introduces a sculptural focal point, balanced by full-height wardrobes that offer generous storage without disrupting the clean lines.
The master bathroom carries through the home’s moody elegance with dark marble flooring and matching trims. These finishes deliver a spa-like setting that feels like a private retreat, while mirroring the elegant tone of the entire home.
With its refined layout and muted palette, the home achieves more than visual harmony – it captures a way of living that is thoughtful and quietly expressive.
