What makes this resale flat stand out from the rest is the wonderful mix of industrial, vintage style influences and colour. The Poetus design team also went beyond the usual custom details by repurposing old vintage accents into charming embellishments for the cabinetry.

This flat is home to a married couple who entertain on a regular basis. Taking into account their gregarious personalities, the designers from Poetus conceptualised a free-flowing space where they could accommodate their guests in style and comfort. One of the rooms has been converted into a glass-enclosed multi-purpose area and the see-through effect amplifies the expanse of space.
Now set in an open-concept layout, the previously-enclosed kitchen is anchored by an outstanding island counter. It is framed by a backing which serves as a backsplash for the sink as well as a protective guard for the counter. On the other side, a series of woodgrain panels is well-contrasted against the teal-coloured walls. Two of these panels function as sliding doors to the rooms.
On these unique cabinetry doors, the designers say: “We sourced for these vintage wall mouldings – a design that was pretty much ‘extinct’.” What they did next was spray paint it in classic black and then repurpose it as usable cabinet doors for the kitchen island.
