Inspiring architectural works were honoured at the recent SIA Design Awards 2025 in July. Held at the XTRA showroom at Marina Square, the awards brought together the industry’s top talents and emerging voices to honour architectural excellence and innovation, underscoring how good design can shape the way we live, feel, and connect.
From a total of 88 submissions, the jury — made up of distinguished architects from Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, and Brazil — shortlisted 23 projects and conferred 5 Design Awards, 12 Merits and the prestigious Design of the Year – awarded to HYLA Architects for their residential project “Inner Haven”.
Here are the winner highlights:
This project was praised by the jury for its “quiet mastery and architectural clarity”. Elegant, precise, and deeply personal, Inner Haven is an exemplar in restraint. Proportions are balanced, and every detail feels considered. It’s timeless architecture in the best possible way.
Part cinematic thriller, part architectural statement, The Reserve is a secure vaulting facility that blends mystery and modern luxury in a space that feels both secretive and spectacular. A bold and provocative piece of architecture for our complex times.

This neighbourhood optical shop is a reminder that small spaces can have big ideas. Using angled glass to reflect the five-foot-way outside, it invites curious glances and foot traffic. Smart detailing, modest materials, and a strong sense of charm transform a tight site and tight budget into a vibrant space.

Built only on previously disturbed ground, its meandering layout treads lightly through the landscape, preserving the site’s ecological character while offering uninterrupted views of the surrounding forest from every room.
The resort uses solar energy, natural ventilation, and even repurposed felled trees to minimise its footprint. The result: a restful, immersive experience where architecture and ecology go hand in hand.
