These unique kitchen systems take the worry out of kitchen design with their offering of versatile, modular and highly functional solutions.
Award-winning German kitchen brand Siematic expresses creativity in both form and function with its Urban kitchen system. Designed to reflect and accommodate the lifestyle of city dwellers, Siematic Urban is composed of standalone units, including the hallmark Siematic 29. This freestanding sideboard can be installed with kitchen elements such as cooktops and sinks and can be configured with different cabinet combinations.

Bulthaup B2 likens the kitchen to a practical workshop, where tools and appliances are neatly stored but readily accessible. This unconventional outlook reduces the kitchen to three sculptural elements: the kitchen tool cabinet (for utensils and cutlery), the workbench (for cooking, washing up and dining) and the kitchen appliance cabinet (for ovens and refrigerators). This flexible design provides more room to move around and versatility in the configuration of the space.

Out in the open
Typically, kitchens tend to look cramped and closed in because of the rows of cabinets that visually weigh down the space. The Urban kitchen, part of Alustil’s MOD Grandeur series, rectifies this by replacing closed upper cabinets with open display shelves. Made of aluminium and glass panels, this open shelving system makes a kitchen feel more spacious, open and brighter.
Available at Alustil.
