The design team from Weiken injected contemporary details and a modern-day twist into this oriental-styled home.

Home Type: 4-bedroom Condominium
Floor Area: 1,658 sqft
This 4-bedroom condo pays tribute to the owners’ Chinese heritage and penchant for oriental style. To prevent the house from looking too old-fashioned, the design team from Weiken injected contemporary details and a modern-day twist.
To achieve the oriental theme that the owners preferred, the design team kept the colour palette to whites, dark wood tones and reds. Since large intricate patterns can overwhelm a small space, the designers paired the dark-toned wood furniture with transparent chairs reminiscent of the Ming dynasty. This way, the woodwork on the ceiling becomes the focal point of the area.
In the master bedroom, the wood-slatted headboard extends all the way to the ceiling to form a canopy over the bed. It visually stretches the room and adds depth and texture to the otherwise muted colour scheme.
