Lofty Ideas by ID Emboss

ID Emboss turns a narrow and constricted apartment into an open, airy loft-like space.

Open plan living is a rarity in Singapore where most have to settle for shoe-box-type confines and typical room segmentation for privacy. So it is little wonder that stepping into this lofty 1,200-sqft interior is a breath of fresh air.

Despite its narrow plan, the apartment feels open and airy. The team from ID Emboss shares that the home was designed to work around â
“simplicity and functionalities”. They started by aligning the rooms – a master bedroom and a child’s bedroom – to one side of the house, leaving the living area with its glass-enclosed reading room, open-concept dry kitchen and dining area as one free-flowing space. Meanwhile, utility spaces that include the simple and functional wet kitchen, laundry area, maid’s room and common toilet are tucked out of sight at the back.
