Obbio Concept puts a unique spin on a Scandinavian aesthetic, bringing comfort and culture into this family home.

A pared down material selection brings unmistakable sophistication into this family home, lending it an air of relaxed minimalism often associated with Scandinavian design. Here, Obbio Concept played with glossy, textured and matte surfaces. The design team even added louvred door panels between the living room and the balcony for a sensuous and comfortable feel.
In the combined dry kitchen and dining area, a trio of contemporary artworks injects colour to the space and frames a simple built-in buffet beautifully. Meanwhile, a black-framed sliding glass door separates the dry and wet kitchens without obstructing the passage of light.
Continuous flooring connects the living and dining area in this Scandinavian styled flat, where a long communal table merges effortlessly with the island counter. The simple storage carpentry that lines one side of the dining space brings attention to the quirkily shaped geometric sideboard doors that echo the artworks hung above.
A sprawling L-shaped display shelf with accent lighting fits comfortably at the intersection corner between the dining and living room, highlighting the homeowners’ collectibles from all over the world.
A splash of turquoise in the master bathroom adds an unexpected pop of colour to the otherwise restrained colour palette of the home. The design team balanced the bold colour choice with a supporting black and white cast of bathroom finishes, and understated light fittings.
To maintain a unified design language throughout, the master bedroom has been outfitted with a similar display cabinet to the one in the living area, accommodating even more of the owners’ collectibles. The neutral colours and muted wood flooring allow the enclosed cabinetry to recede back while placing focus front and centre on the open display collection.
