In the living room, the feature wall is a showcase of well appointed materials including marble, wood, black glass and burnished mirror. This customised piece is actually composed of eight sections, which include a TV console, display shelves and hidden storage. In line with the owners’ request for a modern abode, this room is also equipped with cove lights on the ceiling, a full-fledged home entertainment system and smart home automation that controls the lights and air-conditioning.
The corridor leading to the bedrooms features large sliding doors that open into the common bathroom. Not only does this design lend to the look of a seamless walkway, it also uses less floor space than the typical hinged door. Similarly, the designers utilised sliding doors to lead into the other rooms in this apartment.
Since the homeowners needed a dedicated space to work from home, the design team decided to convert the utility room into a compact yet efficient study. It may be small in size, but this functional room is fully equipped to serve the owners’ requirements. A wall-to-wall desk and matching top-hung cabinets provide more than adequate facilities for a home office.
As with the living room, the master bedroom boasts multi-functional cabinetry that makes efficient use of space. This is especially of note in the nook that has been converted into a vanity table. A glass shelve display, closed storage cupboards and a dressing table sit right outside the en-suite bathroom.
To bring a sense of urban luxury into the room, the designers incorporated a cantilevered side table next to the bed. It comes with a matching light fixture and pull-out storage unit for easy access to bedtime essentials. The designers completed the look with soft furnishing like textured wallpaper, a tufted headboard and plush draperies and cushions.
