To outsiders, CES might be a symposium of innovations, and sometimes weird creations, that’s only catered for tech-savvy and gadgets lovers. However, there’s also a more practical side to this annual look into the “future of tech”. As they say, “Home is where the Heart is”, and with the four trends that we’ve discovered, our home is indeed in need of a checkup to ensure a healthy and sustainable life.

CES 2025
Backup by BioLite

Energy Sustainability

With global weather becoming increasingly unpredictable and causing emergency blackouts, energy security and sustainability have become priorities on most governments’ agendas. A trend that has risen in countries like China is the portable charging station. One example on show at CES 2025 is the Vtoman Flash Speed Pro 3600 which can adapt to various charging requirements. Similarly, the Backup by BioLite home energy appliances does the same but with a much more beautiful, affordable, self-installed, and “disappear in the home” design. It can deliver up to 60 hours of instant, automatic backup energy for your home’s most critical needs.

CES 2025 airshifter
AirShifter

Pollution Solution

Whenever there’s a haze period, our air purifying and filtration devices tend to emerge from storage and are put through their paces. But what if they can be integrated into existing home appliances, which can then provide year-round protection? Both AirShifter from Proxgy (a ceiling fan) and ELEMENT (a ceiling light) have this idea in mind. The former features an integrated HEPA purifier and UV light that can deliver clean, purified air as it cools; while the latter purifies your air by eliminating 100% of critical contaminants harmful to your well-being. Moreover, it can also measure the air quality in your home in real-time.

CES 2025 Samsung
Samsung “AI Food Experience on TV”

AI x Food Experience

It’s not a CES show without showing off the fastest-growing industry in tech: Artificial Intelligence. As much as we like the possibility of their “Best of Innovation” winning product: the HOLODISPLAY FLOATING SCREEN, Samsung has also proven that AI can provide more ingenious uses within the living and kitchen space. One such idea is the “AI Food Experience on TV” whereby any dishes shown on screen can be recipe-researched and replicated by AI. The company’s TV-integrated AI HOME can analyse the food stocked in your fridge to determine available ingredients and build a shopping list for what’s missing to recreate your meal. You can then seamlessly buy ingredients using a provider app, or order food and monitor delivery right from your TV.  This is unequivocally a new “Screen to Table” concept.

Caregem Home Therapy Booth

Home Therapy

It’s not hard to notice that Ceragem, a South Korean company, has championed the “Home Therapy” industry at CES. Using AI as the main personalisation tool, its various new products, from water ionizer to therapeutic spa bed and even a home therapy booth, are all equipped with customisation functions that will fulfil all desired experiences. For example, the AI-powered Home Therapy Booth is a compact, one-person sauna designed for home use, especially perfect for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and fitness enthusiasts. It can analyse real-time biometric data to deliver personalised therapies, including heat, oxygen, sound, light, and aroma, most ideal for quick recovery and privacy.
