Right from the early stages of renovating your home, you will tend to hear the term “space planning” often. Although self-explanatory, the term involves layers and layers of complex strategy and outlining. D’ Initial Concept’s Creative Director Pea Chong simplifies it.
In this 4-room BTO, the Master was enlarged without sacrificing on the size of the adjacent bedroom.
Space planning is the analyses and drafting of physical space inside structures. It deals heavily with the circulation patterns of how people move through and/or around a space conveniently and practically.
This is achieved by organising the space, furniture, and functions to work together and ultimately create a harmonious home.
#1 Traffic: Making note of windows and doors is extremely crucial. They are used to create the most natural path or flow around the room. It also informs where the furniture is placed.
By rethinking the original floor plan and conceptualising the rooms, the firm created this modern penthouse with a better spatial flow.
