While the contemporary style is often associated with a cold and minimalist type of furnishing, the decor of this home veers away from the archetype. With comfort in mind, the design team at AC Vision Design put together a living room that the family can relax and be at ease in.
Following a modern decor style, the designers selected and customised furniture that best suit the needs of the homeowners. Together with soothing earth tones, this home now exudes a warm, cosy ambience. In the living room, a large upholstered sofa was chosen to anchor the room and a high pile rug was added for extra cosiness.
The spacious balcony accommodates an outdoor dining set and a custom-built countertop complete with bar stools. On the deck, the family can sit outside to read, have coffee, enjoy the view, and even use the balcony as an alternative dining spot, especially when entertaining.
The combination of white and dark brown hues used in the kitchen exudes an understated sense of elegance and luxury. The stark colour contrast and clean lines of the hob, hood, and faucet are a nod to modern day designs.
To create a moodier ambience, the colour palette used in the teenager’s bedroom is a mix of grey, brown and navy. A platform bed provides additional storage while the compact design of the sleeping area also allows for a study desk and shelving unit above.
