Rustic textures and an industrial edge come together in this executive apartment
5 March 2014
Raw materials, rustic textures and an industrial edge harmoniously come together in this executive apartment. The newlyweds that stay here wanted a home that would commemorate the next step in their journey together, and Meter Square designers complied with a home that is characterised by the homeowners’ personal touch.
After extensive renovations, the living and dining rooms are more spacious, and can even accommodate a large storeroom next to the dining table. The designers relied on organic textures – like cultured stone in the living room and wood laminates in the dining room – for a homely feel. This living room also bears the mark of the owners’ personalities. The young couple wanted a phrase or quote they could use to represent their personalities. The designers spelt out the words with white stickers that they attached to the black walls and ended up with a personalised touch that makes a strong impact on the home’s design.
Two rooms were combined to create the master bedroom, complete with a walk-in wardrobe wardrobe an a study corner. Similarly, a spare bedroom has been converted into a functional study room with a full wall of sliding glass doors.
