Tucked amid the bustle of Shenton Way, this serene home offers a quiet counterpoint to its lively surroundings. Thoughtfully redesigned by typeface, the 1,300-square-foot, three-bedroom condo reflects the personalities of its owners – a couple with a deep love for fashion, music, and design. With the arrival of their baby girl, they envisioned a refresh that would gracefully evolve with this new chapter, while preserving the essence of their lifestyle.

The renovation brief included the primary goal of accommodating a family of three and a helper and carving out an extra room for the husband’s much-needed downtime – all without crowding the space or losing the airiness they loved. “They’re drawn to open, architectural spaces – much like the destinations they travel to,” shares Rei Ye, Lead Designer at typeface. Therefore, the priority was to maintain that sense of openness and calm while layering in personal touches that reflected their identity.

Rather than expanding walkways or removing storage, Rei Ye and her team introduced drama and subtle choreography into the home’s layout. Two graceful curves, one leading from the kitchen and the other from the master bedroom, form a tunnel-like entrance into the main living space. This transition – from a slightly compressed corridor to an unexpectedly open living zone – offers a sense of release and spatial elevation, an effect that feels both cinematic and intimate.

At the heart of the home, the living room is a canvas of calm sophistication. Stucco finishes cloak the walls, adding depth and shadow play, while reeded glass panels maintain a sense of flow between zones without sacrificing privacy.

Anchoring the space is a dark green B&B Italia Camaleonda sofa in olive suede – plush, sculptural, and undeniably bold. A Karimoku Case Study coffee table and Vitsoe console add architectural clarity, balanced by the softness of a custom Kvadrat carpet underfoot. Overhead, a sleek Boffi fan ties the space together with minimalist poise.

Adjacent to the living area, the dining room reflects the couple’s love for entertaining. A Carl Hansen CH322 table paired with CH32 leather chairs creates a refined yet relaxed setting. A custom sideboard finished in Caeserstone discreetly houses a wine fridge – accessible but out of sight. The DCW NL12 pendant and Sol Luminaire accent lights lend the room a warm, diffused glow ideal for intimate dinners and spirited conversations.

The kitchen maintains visual contact with the rest of the home through a reeded glass panel that offers privacy without complete separation. With Caeserstone countertops and thoughtful storage, the kitchen is both efficient and elegant – ideal for everyday functionality and occasional entertaining.

In the master bedroom, bespoke detailing reigns. Sliding wall panels replace traditional curtains, framing the bay windows and doubling as an elegant bedhead when closed – a solution driven as much by design as feng shui. Parallel to the bed, concealed behind sleek wardrobe doors, is a hidden passage to the master bathroom – a clever gesture that preserves the room’s visual calm.

Furnishings here are curated with precision: the Fritz Hansen Series 7 leather chair and Finn Juhl’s Nyhavn desk form a cosy corner for rest or reflection, while DCW In The Tube wall lights offer a soft glow come nightfall.

The master bathroom retained its original layout, with only the mirror and vanity cabinets replaced. The updated Caeserstone finish ties in seamlessly with the rest of the home, offering durability and understated elegance.

Beyond its architectural gestures and impeccable taste, what stands out in this home is the intentionality. From tucked-away rooms to layered textures and open flow, every detail was shaped to serve a lifestyle that values quality, comfort, and self-expression.

typeface’s thoughtful design ensures that this Shenton Way condo doesn’t just accommodate change – it celebrates it, with quiet beauty and lasting resonance.
