Shopping for furniture and home accessories can be a bore – every shop seems to sell similar looking items. In our search for something fresh, new and eye-catching, we checked out The Beuro, at Tan Boon Liat Building. The showroom boasts a world-sourced repertoire of designer furniture and lighting, so it’s no surprise that we found some excellent pieces that will fit right into any well-designed home. Straight out of Portugal, the Coltrane suspension lights offers sleek aesthetics that fits right into the artful home. Eye-catching shapes seem to precariously float mid-air, and we’re delighted to find out that it comes with magnetic cables that can be adjusted. The light comes in sets of threes, and can be arranged to your preference, like poetry in stasis. Another pleasant surprise comes from the brass-like sheen on the inner portions; they beautifully catch the light!
Nothing speaks of regality and sophistication better than the Heta chair and its matching pouf. Designed by Philippe Bestenheider, this statement piece sports a contemporary frame with fine leather upholstery that begs you to reach out and touch it. The Heta armchair looks great in a reading corner or as a lounger in the living room.
The Vincent sofa is another scene-stealer that deserves prime position in your home. The buttoned upholstery gives that classic chesterfield look while the modern frame ensures a sure-winner. We love how it combines old and new, while remaining exactly on trend.
The Nellcote Spiral light is another ceiling lamp that’s sure to make a statement. Intricately designed, a closer look reveals that it’s an acrylic pendant that you can twist and turn to create your own spiral pattern.
This handwoven beauty is made from raw rope that is stretched over a steel frame, creating a sturdy seat with a beautiful texture. It may be a minimalist design, but its beauty lies in its supposed simplicity. The Vela chair is actually designed to the smallest of details: so exact are its woven proportions, you’ll be awed by the symmetric pattern.
The astounding Scott armchair is an ode to the US army of past. The designer sourced for disused army tents from the US army and recycled them into upholstery for the chair, guaranteeing a materials that’s built to last. Not only are they superbly durable, they also extend an industrial aesthetic that fits right into a masculine interior design.
Bar stools can be notoriously uncomfortable to perch on, but not the Summerset stool by Italian outdoor furniture brand Varaschin. This beautiful take on the wire frame chair comes with a tufted seat pad that can be stretched over the entire seat!
