Two worlds – AP Concept

The communal area adopts an unconventional layout where the dining, living and study areas sit on an L-shaped platform. Following the wife’s preference for Japanese design, the designers have built a tatami-style dining area complete with an indoor garden of artificial tuft and a water feature.

Set on same raised platform as the dining area, the study desk can be neatly tucked against the wall when not in use to enhance the sense of space and maintain the home’s minimalist style. Boosting the mood are greenery and the relaxing view outdoors. The designers have also built seamless floor-to-ceiling storage cabinets to keep clutter out of sight.

The kitchen is where the husband spends a lot of his time in, and it has been designed to suit his preference for industrial design. This masculine space features black tinted glass, rustic wood-look laminates and faux brick walls that conceal the entrance to the laundry yard. The kitchen counter doubles as a spot for casual everyday dining.

The master bedroom sports the same Japanese aesthetic as the living area. The entire space is wrapped in light wood finishes, from the side table to the walls and even the ceiling, creating a cocoon-like atmosphere. It also features a bay window seat that has the added function of a large side table with hidden storage.

In stark contrast, the master bathroom exudes luxury with a dark colour palette and handsome stone-look finishes. An unusual black water closet and rose gold fixtures amp up the luxe factor. The feature wall that backdrops the bathtub is decorated with gold aluminium strips of varying lengths that bring added dimension to the space.
