An overhaul turns an old Mandarin Gardens apartment into a lively home with inspired details.

Interior design firm Design Rebirth is no stranger to dramatic home makeovers, and designing this home was right up their alley. Having been a two-bedroom apartment originally, this 1,001-sq-ft space at Mandarin Gardens would not have served the new owner well “she lives in the apartment on her own” unless major changes were made. That said, designers Victor Loh and Vincent Lim took the liberty to rethink the entire spatial layout, doing away with one bedroom and reconfiguring spaces.
With the newly designed interior, one gets a peek into the living area from the entrance of the apartment. What used to be the living area is now a light-filled dining space fit for an afternoon of laidback entertaining.
