Simple with a twist

description

Light spills in through the full-height windows to softly illuminate the living area. This space exudes quiet and effortless elegance with a few simple but well-chosen furnishings, like the comfortable and deep-seated sofa for lazy days in.

One of the husband’s favourite pastimes is hosting family and friends. It’s therefore no surprise that the couple went with an open-concept kitchen and dining space that facilitates greater interaction. A recessed bar was also built into the wall opposite the kitchen counter. Formerly a storage unit, it now boasts a wine chiller and rattan-fronted cabinets.

To make a bold statement without sacrificing floor space, the designer covered the common bathroom with Peranakan-inspired floor tiles from Soon Bee Huat. These monochrome tiles gel harmoniously with the simple black vanity cabinet and feature wall, which are accented with gold fixtures and fittings.

An elegant shade of grey dominates the master bathroom. Here, it’s the little details that elevate the space. For instance, the niches in the shower stall provide space for bathroom necessities while increasing the luxury quotient of the bathroom. The shower’s step-down feature is also reminiscent of what you might find in a hotel.
