A tranquil and light-filled home to enjoy the daily rituals of life

description

This tranquil home was envisioned to be a warm and welcoming social space where friends and family could visit and enjoy. One of the owners’ requests was for a bar counter where they could entertain their guests. The design team customised a bar cabinet which can be closed off with sliding pocket doors. An attached low-height sideboard allows the couple to display their travel souvenirs.

With its wall-to-wall windows that look out over the neighbouring Phoenix Park, the common area is the intrinsic heart of the home. The shared space between the living and dining rooms forms a large and laid-back area for the homeowners and guests to unwind in. The neutral colour scheme and organic material palette make for a space that evokes a sense of peace and tranquillity.

Natural light is an important factor in the design of this home. By taking down the foyer and kitchen walls, the designers allowed sunlight to filter through the kitchen. A glass door helps to separate the kitchen from the yard while still maintaining this light-filled and tranquil interior.

In order to create a cohesive and efficient space, the designers combined the master bedroom and the common room into one. The newly enlarged room now features ample wardrobe space, a roomy dresser area and even an integrated home office.
