Peppering your home with art shouldn’t be a stressful activity. While one might tend to think hanging them on walls is the only available option, we’re here to tell you otherwise. Get a load of these five ideas to display art in your home. Not only are they ingenious, they’re also fun and rather simple to achieve.
#1 Shelf It
Have an empty wall or a living space that needs some zing? Consider introducing a picture ledge with the sole purpose of displaying framed art, a few travel souvenirs and candles. Make sure the sofa isn’t sticking to the wall and use that gap to attach a slender shelf. Restrict the length to that of the seater to create a compact, yet cosy spot.

#2 Retro Road
Hop on the hipster brigade by introducing some old school artefacts or sculptural art at home. We love how Free Space Intent used this homeowner’s collectibles and gave them a pride of place. In open-concept spaces, you could use artefacts to casually demarcate areas like this retro television set.

#3 Writings on the Wall
What if you could get an artist to create a larger than life painting just for you? We love the idea of commissioning a local street artist or perhaps an artistically inclined friend to create a bespoke mural on a feature wall.

#4 Get Floored
Living in a rental and cannot add nails to your wall? Or maybe you just prefer moving your art around? This solution is for you. Whoever said art ought to only regale to walls. Stack and arrange them on the floor against a partition for effect.

#5 Upright & Awesome
This is another idea for renters and homeowners who don’t want to commit to anything permanent. Make use of furniture like shoe storage and utility cabinets to display adorable art pieces. It can be anything from framed images to decorative plates and trays. Simply have it lean on the wall to turn a functional nook into an appealing corner.
