A neutral scheme was appointed by Design Director Chris Zhang from Plush Interior Design to project a dreamy and inviting quality for this home. Immediately apparent from the front entrance, the view of the spacious and light-filled living area pleases the eye with its new open-plan configuration that extends into the balcony.

Full-height cabinetry scales the front entrance with a streamlined aesthetic. Chris Zhang of Plush Interior Design says: “These storage compartments are integrated with a settee and has a niche for display ornaments.” The curved edges of the niche has a softening effect that sets off an approachable modern look, and its laminated shelves in green complement the ongoing colour scheme.

More curved details appear in the form of the arched tinted mirror, which is a custom-made piece. It is complemented by a painted design in a cheery colour that playfully echoes the mirror’s shape, as well as slim ledges for putting up dainty ornaments.

The dual-purpose balcony (top image) is not only used as a spot to wind down, but as a home office for the married couple. Bi-fold doors demarcate the balcony from the living area, and come in handy when privacy is required for work. A soothing shade of green enlivens the space, and offers a warm juxtaposition with the light wood-look vinyl flooring.

The entrance to the kitchen features a sliding door. Chris reveals that the initial plan to have a swinging door was shelved because the placement would obstruct the workflow in the kitchen. He says: “The sliding version makes better design sense as space is maximised.”

Following the colour palette in the communal zones, the kitchen showcases a pristine white backdrop accented by elegant touches of green. Textured tiles for the backsplash draw out visual depth and introduce contrast against the smooth and matte laminated cabinetry surfaces. Gold-finished hardware brings in the glam factor.

Laminate strips in olive green topped with a sintered stone surface make a handsome ensemble for the peninsula counter unit. It becomes the centrepiece of the semi open-concept kitchen, which can be cordoned off by closing the bi-fold glass windows.

One of the common bedrooms has been converted into the sleeping suite for the homeowners, so the master bedroom is now utilised as their walk-in wardrobe. A door in white with striped details provides a seamless connection between the two areas, while a sliding door serves as the main entrance to the bedroom.

A circular niche has been incorporated in the corner of the bedroom. It’s a playful but functional design that adds character to the otherwise pristine and simply decorated bedroom. The accent colour further accentuates the niche and brings attention to the ornaments on display.

Understated in soft neutral tones, the master bathroom displays a sense of calm with rounded details like the circular mirror and door handles. Lots of storage has been worked into the vanity but the look is kept clean and visually light with sleek surfaces such as the KompacPlus countertop.
