In this home, the kitchen takes centrestage. The chosen accent colour is a blue-grey hue that dominates choice areas around the kitchen and dining spaces. This pleasant colour is easy on the eyes and makes a strong impact in this Scandi-inspired HDB flat. Observe further and you’ll notice the kitchen’s blue cabinets sporting golden knobs that contrast well with the wooden floor tiles.
To make it easier for the couple to put on and remove their shoes, Couple Abode designed a seating area that resembles a reading nook. Made from pale wood frames, the back panel is the same blue-grey hue that mirrors the kitchen counter. Next to it is a customised shoe cabinet and a display area where the couple’s beloved accessories can be seen.
Where lines meet and corners give rise to shape, the level of detailing in this space is immaculate but purposeful. The aesthetic is about clean lines and spatial openness, and is evident throughout the home.
Marble effect dominates the master bathroom. The look is inspired by the elegance and sophistication of posh bathrooms. The homeowners went shopping for tiles that flaunt the marble texture – specifically ones with well-defined black and white veining. These tiles can also be seen in the vanity area.
