The revamped OVON showroom at Joo Chiat Place demonstrates functionality within a cosy and luxe setting. Take the tour.

Interior design firm OVON creates functional and warm interiors that cater to its clients’ lifestyles and personalities. Its philosophy and objective are evident in the revamp of its showroom in Joo Chiat, where the team takes time to connect with their clients in a cosy home-like setting.
Throughout the showroom, clients get a glimpse of the firm’s creativity and design flair. The space is divided into three sections: a front area featuring a custom-designed wardrobe and a vanity area, a middle section with a dry kitchen and island, and a discussion area with booth seating at the back of the showroom.
The design team has seamlessly incorporated some of the latest design trends into the showroom, and arches and black-framed design elements like the divider near the entrance are standout features in the space. “We’ve kept the carpentry linear and streamlined, but brought in geometrical shapes as seen in the divider to make it more balanced,” says OVON’s creative director Raymond Soh.
The kitchen features dark green laminated surfaces that play off against the grey walls on the opposite side. Clients can also get a feel of the Dekton countertop from Cosentino and cabinets with Blum fittings.
The mood here is warm and comfortable with the strategic use of lighting. While the colour scheme is dark and sensuous, OVON emphasises customising colour palettes that are aligned with the client’s personality, style and wants in its projects.
Additional seating areas are fronted by welcoming arched entryways and are designed to provide a private setting for discussions.
Curves and lines on the divider between the two areas echo those seen on the feature at the entrance. The reeded glass adds texture to the partition.
OVON’s eye for detail is evident through its attention to fine features like the brass inlay on the custom wardrobe. Matte black laminates featuring advanced technology to make them scratch- and fingerprint-resistant also give the space a masculine vibe.
The washroom area, too, is jazzed up with a mini vertical garden and a striking neon sign. Raymond shares: “With the revamp, we have provided more space-saving solutions for our clients to experience. Functionality is our focus, but we have also given the showroom a posher look through the use of materials.”
