Kinestral Technologies, Inc. is stirring up the market for tinted windows with the introduction of a new product called Halio.
Halio is a smart-tinting glass that lets one maximise the amount of natural light coming into the space, while controlling glare and regulating the indoor climate for all day comfort.
The windows can be programmed to tint based on the weather, time, or the sun’s position during the course of the day; it starts tinting within 20 seconds to deliver glare relief and shade, and achieves the desired tint levels within three minutes or less!
Halio can be automated or manually controlled, and it even gets smarter over time, eventually knowing exactly when to tint or clear.
According to the company, when compared to high performance window alternatives, Halio can reduce energy used for heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and lighting by up to 20 per cent.
All Halio windows and skylights, regardless of size, can be programmed to tint individually or in groups. The product can also be used as interior walls and partitions.
Now, how cool is that?
