Italian furniture brand Porro, which is carried in Singapore at XTRA, has always been known for its clean and geometric designs, without forgetting its unique company philosophy: simplicity above all. Ever since its founding in 1925, it has championed a fusion of handicraft tradition with the most advanced manufacturing technologies, creating minimal systems that can cater to and be customised for any kind of interior need. For a sophisticated bedroom, one can never have enough storage. And that is where our exploration into Porro designs that are suited for the bedroom begins!

Load-it Book Shelving System

Designed by: Wolfgang Tolk

(Top image) Coined as “one of the most requested pieces of the Porro collection”, Load-it’s steel shelves may look simple visually, but its linear appearance can be blended seamlessly with textural wall panels, hence creating a universal backdrop for books, art or memorabilia to shine.

Why we love it: A dedicated spotlight can be placed anywhere along the electrified profile under the shelf thanks to its magnetic connection, allowing the objects displayed on the shelves to be illuminated beautifully.

Attrezzatura Interna Storage System

Porro

Designed by: Piero Lissoni

If clothes and garments are your happy place, why not show them off in the bedroom? With this “semi” open storage system – made possible with its clear glass facade – you can dress up your bedroom wardrobe with a wide and practical range of interior fittings. All the structure finishes are available for any unit in any width.

Why we love it: The fitting consists of shelves, clothing racks, drawer sets, wood trays, sweater holders, bag holders, trouser racks, shoe racks, laundry baskets, and accessories. This makes it brilliantly easy to organise your things and choose your outfit for the day.

Boutique Mast (Day/Night) Shelving System

Porro

Designed by: Piero Lissoni

This multifunctional shelving system is definitely a perfect concept for modern homes. With its floor-to-ceiling composition, you will have the freedom to position it your bedroom (or living room) as a divider and to display things. It’s suited for the walk-in closet and can even be a worktop – why not?

Why we love it: Between the vertical sequence of thin metal units and the horizontal cantilevered wood units, it is in fact possible to freely fit hanging open or equipped modules, preciously refined with a 45-degree corner jointing. All finishes are mixable inside the same unit.

Makura Bed

Designed by: Piero Lissoni

Makura has a cosy and inviting shape thanks to the sinuous and smooth curve that connects the headboard with the bed structure. With its body suspended from the floor, this textile bed exudes domestic warmth.

Why we love it: The covering of the structure can be realised in all the fabrics of the Porro collection or in leather, eco-leather or Nabuk; the fabric covering is totally removable for easy cleaning and a change of style.

Inlay Storage

Designed by: Front

Known for their quirky designs, Swedish duo Front has revived the ancient and precious tradition of “inlay” technique by creating a unique 3D effect facade with four different oak colours. Whether it’s in the form of a sideboard or a chest of drawers, this design will be the statement piece in your bedroom, and anywhere else in your home.

Why we love it: Form meets function. Need we say more?
