Set within Ardmore Park, this four-bedroom condo was transformed by Ebenezer Yoon, founder of MYNMYN Studio, into a home that supports lively hosting while retaining the ease of a calm everyday retreat. The brief called for a complete overhaul, but the ambition went beyond refreshed finishes. For the family of four, the priority was a more resolved way of living – with generous storage woven into the architecture so that it supports the home quietly rather than defining it.
Instead of conventional cabinetry, Ebenezer introduced sliding wall panels that conceal the TV and shelving within the living area. Against the surrounding light-toned surfaces, the centre feature wall in black Silestone Eternal Marquina marble from Cosentino anchors the space with a strong yet composed presence.
Reflecting the homeowners’ appreciation for Asian art, framed pieces are layered across the panels so the installation reads somewhere between furniture and gallery wall. “The biggest challenge was the TV feature wall, as the owners didn’t want the living room to look like it had many cabinet doors,” explains Ebenezer. “We worked closely with them and the carpenter to develop sliding panels with concealed tracks that could support the weight of the stone and the artwork.”
The original flooring was replaced with engineered wood from Arcfloor. Set in a herringbone pattern, the continuous wood-toned surface introduces warmth across the apartment and helps tie the open-plan zones together.
The kitchen was opened up and reconfigured into a dry kitchen with an island and pantry, supported by a separate back kitchen. At the centre of the new arrangement is a generously overhanging 1.2-metre island finished in Bergen Xgloss by Dekton, serving as both workspace and gathering point.
Tucked behind, the enclosed wet kitchen handles heavier cooking without interrupting the serenity of the main entertaining space. Its storage-efficient layout and warm wood-look finishes keep the room practical yet visually connected to the rest of the home.
As part of the social heart of the apartment, an open bar clad in black cabinetry forms a striking focal point. It is flanked by fluted wall panels and doors that conceal an extensive wine collection and two wine chillers.
Next to the private lift lobby, the foyer also sees a powder room tucked discreetly behind fluted wall panels. It remains close at hand for guests while preserving a clean and uninterrupted arrival into the home.
From the concealed pantry to the powder room at the entrance, the art of hidden transitions runs quietly through the home. A pivoting door marked by a framed artwork continues the sequence, subtly screening the bedroom wing and ushering more privacy.
Beyond it, the corridor reads almost like a gallery passage lined with books and art. It leads to a former bedroom at the far end that was opened up by Ebenezer to become a flexible study.
“We hacked this last room and installed a bifold door for flexibility to open and close the space,” says Ebenezer. Behind full-height doors, two workstations can be neatly tucked away alongside a sofa bed fitted within a cosy nook, allowing the room to shift easily between work and guest use.
In the master bedroom, the mood softens into a quieter retreat. Fluted wall panels frame the bed as a gentle focal point, while the custom bedside ledges and pendant lighting keep the composition calm and uncluttered.
One of the fluted panels slides aside to reveal the window, allowing more daylight into the room. This continues the home’s theme of layered surfaces that quietly conceal and reveal, while natural light and warm illumination shift the ambience throughout the day.
The master bathroom was planned as a generous retreat, with a bathtub placed beside the window for a more relaxed bathing experience within the space. “All the bathrooms went through an overhaul, but for the master bathroom, we redesigned it to cater for two shower sets and a tub. There’s also room for his-and-her sinks,” says Ebenezer.
Completed over four months, the transformation of this apartment by MYNMYN Studio reflects a careful balance between openness and subtle layering. Doors become artworks, storage blends into the architecture and spaces unfold gently from one to the next, bringing art and everyday living together in a considered way.
