This condominium apartment, composed of three bedrooms and a study, is the residence of a family of four. Obbio Concept designed a contemporary apartment with clean lines, modern furniture and creative elements for the art lovers. Functionality was not neglected as display and hidden storage areas have been maximised, be it for showcasing sculptures or hiding away clutter.
The living and dining space was laid out to maximise openness and invite unobstructed views of the outdoors. A favourite feature for the design team is the semi-enclosed study that makes the living area appear visually larger, thanks to the glass windows and doors. Creative elements are spread throughout, such as a uniquely patterned carpet and an imaginative artwork of doves matched with hanging pendants, designed to call to mind a tranquil scenery inspired by the sky.
Although narrow in floor area, the study room does not appear to be claustrophobic for its user. With half-height glass windows and doors, a semi-enclosure was created, enabling privacy and openness at the same time. Sleek, black frames lend a hip aesthetic, backdropped by floor-to-ceiling carpentry housing books and sculptures.
The brief for the small bedrooms was to create sufficient storage without cramming up or compromising on areas for work, play and rest. The design team created storage areas that are conveniently stowed under the platform bed, ideal for large and rarely used items like luggage. Where possible, shelving and carpentry were added on without imposing. A grey palette unifies the entire apartment, keeping it clean and timeless.
