In Singapore, 1,000-square-foot of a dwelling is rather modest, if not more than average of a size. For a family of five, it may prove to be a challenge. But for a young bachelorette living here, it’s more than sufficient. In fact, it provided her lots of flexibility to change the layout to suit her needs and lifestyle better.
By enlisting the talented design team from SPIRE, the owner set out to create her dream bachelorette pad. The combined living-and-dining area boasts equal parts comfort and elegance. A comfy grey sectional anchors the space replete with a plush rug and an assortment of throw pillows in feminine shades. The wood-look laminated media console adds warmth to the space while a lovely pendant and colourful artwork inject vivaciousness to the dining space.
Like most women who wish to have a glorious walk-in wardrobe, the designers granted her wish by merging two bedrooms together.
The larger unit becomes the sleeping area while the smaller unit functions as a dressing room replete with a vanity. An internal sliding door has been added to separate the two distinct zones, making for a more restful and cosy ambient to sleep in.
While the study or home office usually sits parked within the bedroom, the owner preferred it to be a separate entity. As such, the design team converted another bedroom into a conducive work environment that also serves as a mini library for her collection of reading materials.
The stylish owner also requested for an equally stylish master bathroom. Here, homogeneous marble tiles dress the floor while large, hexagon shaped tiles have been painstakingly clad onto the walls and floor of the shower stall.
This dramatic statement follows suit in the common bathroom, albeit in a more subtle fashion with black and white mosaic-liked tiles.
Yet another bold and unexpected statement is apparent in the kitchen. Soft mint green cabinetry becomes the protagonist of this space. Meanwhile, the countertop and backsplash with pink undertone inject a touch of femininity, which complete this ladylike and sophisticated bachelorette pad.
