For those navigating compact room layouts or shifting lifestyles, modular furniture is the answer to making the most of your space. The Parka collection by Poltrona Frau delivers just that, with a seating solution that adjusts with ease. Designed in collaboration with celebrated Italian duo Draga & Aurel – regulars on Architectural Digest’s AD100 list and winners of the Wallpaper* Design Award – the Parka system reflects their award-winning eye for both form and function. Here are four ways this thoughtfully designed sofa can transform the way you live at home.
For their debut project with Poltrona Frau, Draga & Aurel took cues from the parka jacket – a wardrobe staple known for its comfort, versatility and timeless appeal. That same thinking guides the sofa’s form: low and softly curved for comfort, yet sculptural enough to define any room.
Part of Poltrona Frau’s 2024 Imagine Collection, the Parka series comprises sectional elements including concave and convex units, with or without terminal armrests, and placed either on the right or left side. This versatility allows homeowners to create seating layouts tailored to their floor plan, making it a natural fit for today’s fluid lifestyles.
Upholstered in Pelle Frau® leather, elegant fabrics or a combination of both, the sofa’s texture and tone-on-tone top stitching reflect the brand’s attention to detail. Its clean curves and plush upholstery make it a seat and a centrepiece for open-plan spaces or multifunctional living rooms.
Parka’s thoughtful design is backed by Poltrona Frau’s heritage of quality craftsmanship, developed over a century at its workshop in Tolentino, Italy. From legendary pieces like the Dezza by Gio Ponti to collaborations with today’s leading designers, the brand continues to merge traditional artistry with contemporary design values.
“Poltrona Frau has always sought and upheld that sense of contemporary luxury which is able to respond – in an aesthetic, conceptual and, above all, ethical way – to modern requisites,” shares CEO Nicola Coropulis. And with Parka, that philosophy is expressed through a sofa that looks timeless and lives easily, perfect for how we live, work, and relax today.
