A home by Classic Ideas benefits from antique furniture and a penchant for timber.
17 July 2012
Having bought a resale four-room HDB flat, a sentimental family couldn’t let go of their old furniture. To them it would mean discarding precious memories. So they enlisted the help of Classic Ideas to help them design a home, not just for themselves, but also for their existing collection of antique furniture. It helped that the client was partial to a Balinese theme for their home as it made integrating the mostly wooden furniture very easy.
Entering the flat is akin to stepping into a charming Balinese cottage. In the living area, antique furniture creates a warm ensemble. The design team did little to add to the space, allowing room for the heavy timber pieces to breathe.
