In this Scandi-inspired condo, a laminate palette of woodgrain textures for the TV console meets dashes of yellow and grey in the form of the cabinet doors and wall backings. White cabinetry at the top maximises the full height of the wall. The designers from Story of Us add: “We had to consider the existing marble flooring with really distinctive veining and work out a balanced look for this design feature.”

Blue, the female homeowner’s favourite colour, was chosen for this airy kitchen. The cabinets and patterned tiles take on this friendly shade, bringing a striking modern-Scandi aesthetic to the space. “Knocking down the walls here really opened up the space,” say the designers. The new configuration now features bi-fold windows and a door which let in ample daylight.

To form a U-shaped kitchen layout, the designers had to hack away the walls and change the entire configuration. This new symmetrical design flow is well-contrasted by the homogeneous floor tiles which are arranged in an eye-catching chevron pattern.

The master bathroom showcases similar patterned tiles for the sink’s backsplash but this time, in a cool shade of grey. A round mirror breaks the monotony of the boxy outlines in the space. Say the designers: “We wanted to establish design consistency, even in the bathroom.”

To embrace the homeowners’ love for reading and chilling out, the designers turned one of the common bedrooms into a cosy nook for both activities. A raised platform becomes the perfect spot to unwind and a pullout bed was implemented at the base. This cleverly hidden feature allows the space to function as a guestroom.

The bay window has been converted into something more functional: a study for two. It has been fitted with a sliding desk that the homeowners can adjust to make more room when needed. A wall of storage with consistent design elements of grey, yellow and woodgrain accents provides shelving for books.
