This being the third home that Design Director Chris Koh has done up for the homeowners says a lot about their absolute trust in her. She says: “The family of four, who has upgraded to a five-bedder, four-storey house, has always liked the modern contemporary look, so we explored this concept, but with a more polished take.”

To pull off a look of modern finesse, Chris cohesively laid out tinted mirrors, glass and linear design strokes on the ground level. While the look is decidedly modern, the communal space does not lose its homely warmth as it is accented by warm lighting and plush furnishings. The family can enjoy time together and entertain company in comfort and style.

Not only does this home have all the modern comforts, it boasts an elevator as well. It is encased in glass and has an LED light-changing feature that lends a futuristic element to the space. Next to it is the dry kitchen’s island counter, which cuts a fine figure with its granite surface. With the communal zones integrated as one open layout, the homeowners can now interact and entertain seamlessly.

The staircase faces the front entrance and since it leads into the private areas on the second floor, Chris installed a divider for more privacy. She designed an asymmetrical-shaped structure, which blends flawlessly into the home’s modern aesthetic. Besides providing a decorative element, the divider keeps the staircase well out of sight from the main entrance.

The rooftop garden has been converted into a resort-style oasis where the homeowners can soak up the sun. A wall of cultured stone and greenery serves as a scenic backdrop and is complemented by wood decking. Furnished with outdoor wicker pieces like a lounger and seats, the homeowners have another family area to relax with their two teenage daughters.
