Inspired by the condo’s original concave ceiling, copper-toned vertical concave metal panels were added to the living room. “We framed the DCW Rosalie wall lamps, highlighting the husband’s favourite Fan Shao Hua painting, and it’s complemented by a vibrant Treku sideboard, reflecting the wife’s love for colour,” remarks Carlos Sim, founder of IDesignerLab.

Having downsized from a three-storey landed house, the family’s primary concern was integrating their extensive collection of designer furniture, light fittings, and mid-century artwork into the new space. IDesignerLab addressed these needs by optimising space with discreet storage while incorporating display areas to showcase their art and decorative pieces.

Outside of work, music and golf, the husband’s love for fine wines inspired the design of the bespoke dining area, featuring a fluted door panel that discreetly conceals a full-sized wine fridge. Adjacent glass display shelves elegantly showcase his collection of wine glasses and carafes, merging functionality with style.

The path leading to the private realm is seamlessly enveloped in wood veneers, including the doors, blending utility with aesthetic elegance. This harmonious design reflects the husband’s preference for understated sophistication and his wife’s creative flair, creating a visual narrative that brings the renovation process to life.

Much like the rest of the apartment, the bathroom exudes warmth and class with soothing shades of browns and whites. Concealed storage keeps surfaces clutter-free while an integrated towel bar highlights practical and thoughtful design. Additionally, the lighting design accentuates the bathroom’s architectural features wonderfully.

“Inspired by the design of airplane business class cabins, we introduced a ‘two-tier wrapping’ effect that envelops the space, creating a cosy and embracing atmosphere conducive to restful sleep,” explains interior design consultant Hazel Chai regarding the master bedroom design. Statement lighting like the mustard yellow pendant. and circular rug in the dressing area further enhance the layered look.
