Project of the Week: Process & Transparency
The "Project of the Week" is a curated accolade designed to highlight exceptional residential design through a fair, rigorous, and data-driven internal system. We maintain total transparency in our selection process to ensure every project is judged solely on its merits.
01 Automatic Eligibility
- Entry: All recently published projects automatically enter our selection pool.
- 12-Week Window: Projects remain eligible for selection for 12 weeks from their publication date.
- Equal Opportunity: No project is excluded based on firm size, sponsor status, or industry relationships.
- One-Time Win: A project can be crowned "Project of the Week" only once.
02 The Weekly Shortlist
- Curation: Our editorial team selects a focused shortlist of 6–8 projects per week to ensure high-quality comparisons.
- Selection Criteria: Shortlisting is based on visual impact, spatial solutions, editorial relevance, and reader interest.
- Cooldown Period: To ensure variety, a project cannot be shortlisted if it has appeared in a shortlist within the last 14 days.
03 Independent Judging
- Blind Scoring: Judges only see the final shortlist, never the full database.
- Zero Bias: Judges score projects independently over a three-day window with no internal discussion allowed.
- Merit-Based: The final winner is determined strictly by the highest average judge score, removing editorial preference from the result.
04 Fairness & Continuity
- Ongoing Chance: If a project is shortlisted but does not win, it remains eligible for future weeks until its 12-week window expires.
- Integrity: Our "Zero-Argument Fairness Rules" protect our editorial credibility and provide a fair platform for all design professionals.
