At 975-square-feet, this three-bedroom apartment feels more layered than its footprint suggests. Conceived by Doubble Interior, the project was guided by a clear but potentially contrasting brief: a modern French interior interwoven with tropical inflections, tailored to a style-conscious homeowner drawn to fashion and greenery. Rather than applying these influences as surface motifs, the designers translated them into proportion, framing and material contrast that unfold gradually from room to room.

The living area establishes this language. A dark-trimmed arch frames the television wall, transforming a functional surface into a composed focal point. Within it, a restrained landscape wallpaper introduces nature in an atmospheric register — present, but not overpowering. The designers intended this interplay between architectural detail and softness to prevent the classical elements from feeling overly formal. Ornate cornices reinforce the French reference, while plush seating and layered textiles temper the structure, resulting in elegance that remains entirely liveable.

In the dining zone, a stone island lends visual weight and quiet permanence, while green glass pendants introduce a tropical note. The contrast between solidity and lightness allows the space to shift comfortably from casual breakfasts to evening gatherings, with material richness carrying the mood instead of ornament.

A black-edged archway marks the transition into the dressing room, heightening the sense of progression without altering the original layout. Inside, panelled cabinetry finished in EDL laminates combines classic detailing with everyday durability. Integrated lighting within open shelves turns storage into display, subtly echoing boutique environments — a nod to the homeowner’s fashion sensibility. Positioning the vanity by the window was a deliberate move; the designers wanted natural light to become part of the daily routine, elevating what could have been a purely utilitarian space.

Behind wardrobe doors, the tone shifts. A blush-toned washroom introduces warmth and ornament in a compact, immersive setting. An ornate mirror and layered lighting lend it a jewel-like intimacy, creating a moment of contrast within the overall sequence.

The master bedroom continues the narrative with botanical wallpaper and deeper tonal contrasts. Darker textiles and filtered daylight create depth without heaviness, maintaining the relaxed, nature-led thread.

In the second washroom, deep green tiles and dark cabinetry establish a moodier atmosphere, sharpened by a Cosentino vanity surface and an arched mirror that quietly reiterates the French lineage.

Structurally, the layout was largely retained. Rather than undertaking major reconstruction, Doubble Interior focused on custom carpentry, refined detailing and considered material upgrades to elevate the existing framework. The result is a home that’s shaped less by dramatic change, and more by disciplined, well-judged design decisions.
