The owners of this 3-bedroom apartment aren’t the only ones that get to enjoy a comfortable and cosy home – their cats get to do the same as well.

“The whole house is designed to ensure that the cats and their owners can co-exist in the same space comfortably,” share the design team of Linear Space Concepts. “The owners also wanted to have enough space to move around; they did not want the home to be cluttered with cat furniture,” they add.

The apartment is a calm and minimalist space with cement screed walls, simple streamlined furniture, and a play of neutral and light wood tones. The kitchen island takes pride of place in the home and has been specially designed with the furkids in mind. Say the design team: “The kitchen island is the central heart of the home; it’s where the owners store their kitchenware and cat supplies. So we decided to integrate two cat-sized cubbyholes here for the cats to hide and rest in.”

Other elements of the home have also been cleverly designed to cater to both the owners and their pets. Like the kitchen island, the TV console comes with similar cubbyholes to house the felines, while the shelves next to the dining area can be used for display purposes or as a cat ‘playground’.

With the spaces kept simple, Linear Space Concepts have turned the ceiling in the living area into a chevron-patterned design feature, with the wooden panels lending warmth and a sense of cosiness to the space.

The same ceiling treatment has been given to the master bedroom. This time, the pristine white panels enhance the atmosphere of calm and quietude. Instead of your standard feature wall, in true minimalist fashion, a simple shelf above the bed allows the owners to decorate this vertical space however they want – with art or objects – whenever they want.

Since the unit doesn’t have an existing storeroom, the design team have created an elevated platform that provides a generous amount of storage space, keeping clutter out of sight – and mind.
