SingaPlural 2014 – Celebrating Design

Multi-faceted design event SingaPlural returns in March 2014

SingaPlural 2014 – Celebrating Design

One of Singapore’s largest celebration of design is set to return bigger and better than before. SingaPlural 2014 – Celebrating Design is the third edition of the multi-faceted design event, to be held from 12 March to 16 March 2014. This year, SingaPlural will expand beyond multiple locations around the city to include SingaPlural @ Singapore EXPO, in conjunction with International Furniture Fair Singapore 2014 (IFFS 2014). This mega design event will spawn new ideas and concepts from design players in Advertising, Architecture, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture as well as Interior, Furniture, Graphic and Fashion Design.

SingaPlural 2014, which is the anchor event of Singapore Design Week (SDW), offers visitors a visual treat with installations and curated design spaces, symposiums and competitions. The event will be held in multiple locations, including Dhoby Ghaut Green, Bugis+, LASALLE College of the Arts, Park Mall, the new National Design Centre and Robinsons Orchard
One of the most anticipated exhibition is the popular 30 LifeStories segment. SingaPlural 2014 will feature 30 installations that represent a second lease of life for pruned tree logs salvaged from various parks and woods around Singapore.
Another returning exhibition is the successful design showcase Design Larger Than Life, which collects six supersized outdoor installations that invite interaction and immersion.

A new venture for this year’s SingaPlural is the collaboration with several corporate partners. Robinsons Orchard and Park Mall will be providing in-house display spaces for design teams that will be given 48 hours to transform the given space into a sensorial display centred on a creative theme.
