Artificial intelligence appeared across a wide range of products at CES Las Vegas 2026, from shoe-cleaning devices to hyper-personalised shower systems. Alongside this, a broader mix of technologies pointed to a shift in how innovation is being applied at home — addressing everything from spatial integration and everyday practicality to safety. These ideas surfaced across a range of household products that stood out this year.
Even as TV prices keep going down, innovations are still being made and winning covered awards. Case in point: LG SIGNATURE OLED T and Hisense 163MX. The former, although not an entirely new concept, pushes the idea further by doing away with the solid black panel typical of most TVs. Its transparent OLED panel — made up of self-emissive pixels without a backlight — allows the display to become transparent when not in use, so the surrounding space remains visible while still delivering vivid image quality when switched on.

The latter, a 163-inch display and the industry’s first MicroLED screen to feature a four-primary RGBY (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow) pixel architecture, is designed to deliver exceptional clarity, vibrant colours and consistent performance in any lighting condition. Its innovative QuadColor design expands the colour range to cover 95% of the BT.2020 colour space — a 5% improvement over previous RGB MicroLED systems.

Ever wondered why washer-dryers don’t seem designed for the space realities of modern homes? Hisense’s X-Zone Master intends to solve that by being the world’s first scalable washer-dryer platform, combining a high-capacity main unit (28.7 lbs wash / 19.8 lbs dry) with configurable mini double-drum modules (4.4 lbs wash / 2.2 lbs dry each). Whether arranging them side-by-side, stacked, or built into cabinetry, this duo system will enable flexible installation for different household needs, especially to prevent cross-contamination across baby clothes, pet bedding, athletic wear, delicates, and intimate garments.

Similarly, CLEANR Inc. also launched an “add-on” that will filter your washing machines from microplastics. This filter takes just 15 minutes to install, no tools required; is smart app enabled; and requires less than 30 seconds of maintenance per week. Its patented design is inspired by nature and proven to outperform conventional filtration technologies by over 300%!

Beyond lifestyle conveniences, CES 2026 also highlighted how artificial intelligence is being applied in more functional ways. From AI-powered shoe-cleaning devices such as the AiRET S9 to systems that personalise shower conditions, like Ceragem’s BALANCE AI Rejuvenation Shower System, intelligent features are increasingly integrated into everyday products.

More critically, however, AI is also being explored as a tool to enhance safety at home. In light of the recent fire tragedy in Tai Po, Hong Kong, cities with a high concentration of high-rise living — such as Singapore — may find relevance in solutions like HANSUNST’s AI SMART FIRE DETECTOR. Conventional fire detectors are often unable to distinguish harmless flames, such as candles or cooking fires, from real emergencies. By contrast, this system analyses whether a flame is human-generated and continuously monitors its behaviour to determine if it escalates into a genuine fire risk.
Through continuous learning, the detector responds not just to the presence of fire, but to fire as a situation, setting a new benchmark for reliability and safety across industrial, public and residential environments.
