Arne Jacobsen would’ve been proud and maybe even a bit amazed. Six decades after he dared to imagine a set of curvey seaters to fill the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen that he was building, his innovative designs are still relevant in 2018. The Egg, the Swan, and the Drop still live on as classics, investment pieces and a symbol of design history.

On the 60th anniversary of their creation, Danish furniture design company Fritz Hansen is celebrating by paying homage to their emblematic silhouettes in brand new and luxe finishes. The ever-enveloping Egg chair and the blooming Swan chair is available in a buttery leather that’s incredibly soft to the touch and ages gracefully with time.

The Drop chair is upholstered with a long-lasting and structured Sera wool fabric in brown-grey. They are all finished with a luxurious 23-karat gold coated base.

And these beauties are rare – only 1,958 pieces each of the Egg and the Swan have been manufactured, one for every year since they were designed by Arne Jacobsen. The Drop is a limited edition with a specially designed anniversary label, only available until the end of this year.

To unveil the coveted limited editions, Fritz Hansen collaborated with Design Hotels to set up a stunning design installation at Singapore’s The Warehouse Hotel. The installation, inspired by Singapore’s history, will be on display until 4 April, 2018.
