This year’s 200-page edition of Lookbox Annual profiles 25 talented interior design firms in Singapore, and 40 of their most inspiring residential projects. Also included is an essential shopping guide of beautiful products and solutions that make a house a home.
To mark the launch, more than 100 designers attended our recent Lookbox Annual 2023 Designer Appreciation Night. It was hosted by Tappeti at the Stylecraft showroom, and during the evening, tokens of appreciation were awarded to long-standing Trusted ID Partners of the Lookbox Annual.
With so many inspiring projects in this year’s annual, we launched our inaugural Lookbox Annual 2023 People’s Choice competition on 29 May, asking you, our reader, to vote for your favourite residential project out of a shortlist of 25.
With votes from across Singapore, results were announced on 29 June where it was revealed that the Winner of this year’s People’s Choice was Linear Luxury by Notion of W! We also announced the five prize winners who voted for the winning project, and the fabulous prizes they won from Smeg and Ariston (click here for details).

As food and wine connoisseurs, the homeowners get to enjoy a statement-making dining area with a curated material palette of wood, white marble and grey tiles. It stands next to a feature wall sporting abstract black and white prints, and this understated setup delivers a dramatic style pairing. Bathing the space with daylight is a new sky roof, which replaces the original air well.
Making the most of the linear layout of the house, Notion of W opened up the patio and expanded the back of house to accommodate a long dining counter. An extended modular sofa adds to the entertaining amenities and adapts well to the family’s changing needs. Echoing the elongated wall is the television feature wall, which provides a multitude of storage as well.
Every nook and cranny in this house is well-utilised without sacrificing spatial quality. The area under the staircase has been turned into a mini bar with an integrated cellar, making it an ideal drinking hole for the homeowners to unwind or to host their guests.
“With a growing family, the homeowners would like everyone to have their own space. They also wanted larger communal spaces for everyday living and entertaining,” say the designers. Adhering to the brief, the kitchen, dining and living areas were kept open, creating ample spaces for the family. Black linear accents and LED lighting strips further complement the elongated house.
Continuing the elongated spatial language is the master bedroom on the second floor, which is fitted with a tailor-made living setup comprising a workstation and a king-sized bed. The bedroom is also furnished with a lounging sofa, television wall, walk-in wardrobe, bathroom and balcony – resembling a studio apartment ideal for the couple when they need privacy.
Black frames and linear LED strips present a uniformed aesthetic for the study area, while curved design accents soften the look. The monochromatic style ensemble is prominent in the bathroom as well, and the chic colour combo encourages one to luxuriate in its timeless style.
