Once you’ve shortlisted your designers, it then comes down to determining ‘the one’ and this is based on several factors such as personal chemistry, expectations, budget, services and so forth. Here are some useful tips:

#1 Look at past projects to know the firm’s strengths and versatility on projects, and to also determine if you share a similar aesthetic sense.

#2 Speak to the specific designer that will be working on your home. You’ll be spending a lot of time together so it’s important that you get along.

#3 While it’s good to shortlist a few design firms to work with, don’t go overboard. Speaking to too many designers can be confusing and might make the decision harder.
