Home to an avid art collector and her dog, this Bukit Timah condo was shaped by a clear yet creative brief: turn the dim and dated space into a bright, gallery-inspired haven. Her designers from R+ Studio delivered and reimagined the home as a light-filled canvas, with a standout curved dining wall complete with LED lighting doubling as both art display and an entertaining space.
Reflecting the homeowner’s love for art, colour is used with intention throughout the condo to stir different emotions in each space. In the living area, calming shades of blue set a tranquil tone. “This soothing colour promotes relaxation,” note the designers. Complemented by crisp white walls and warm timber tones, the result is an elegant, understated canvas that feels refined and restful.
Recessed curves and minimal carpentry are thoughtfully integrated into the whitewashed walls, serving practical needs while remaining visually discreet. These design elements gently guide natural light through the home, enhancing its airy feel. “By rethinking the layout, we transformed the once-boxy condo into a bright, open haven,” say the designers.
Grounded by rich wood-look cabinetry and dramatic marble veins, the kitchen radiates warmth and quiet elegance. “True to the homeowner’s artistic passion, each space evokes a feeling,” shares the designers. The cookspace’s deep brown tones lend a sense of stability – an anchoring contrast to the brighter living areas.
The bathroom comes across as a tranquil retreat, where gently curved mirrors, warm lighting and stone-look finishes evoke a cocooning sense of calm. In the shower, ambient lighting illuminates the recessed shelves, enhancing both mood and depth. A rain shower completes the experience, lending a touch of everyday luxury to this spa-like space.
The vanity pairs warm wood-look cabinetry with marble accents, blending function and quiet luxury. A playful dog-shaped hook adds charm – a reminder that even the smallest details were considered. Like the rest of the home, the bathroom is an expressive sanctuary where everyday rituals become moments of joy.
