The team from Design Rebirth have reconfigured the floor plan of this condo apartment and designed a sleek, contemporary space that revolves around the homeowners’ lifestyles.

Dark marble flooring gives the communal zones a luxurious appeal, and to temper the dramatic veining, Design Rebirth‘s Design Director Khoon Wah chose neutral colours for the walls and carpentry. The seamless living and dining space has been set in an elongated layout, with dark tinted mirrors helping to create the illusion of a larger space.
The kitchen’s new configuration comprises double sliding doors and a neat order of built-in appliances and storage space. “When the doors are open, the kitchen becomes part of the communal zones,” says Khoon Wah. This gives the homeowners much flexibility in using the cookspace.
The homeowners’ two sons share this bedroom, which features a custom-built bunk bed. Two rooms were merged, resulting in a bigger space that now accommodates a study area. The uniformed application of oak parquet flooring laid in a herringbone pattern in the two different zones creates a more seamless connection.
Lines are incorporated onto the wallpapered backdrop in the master bedroom. There is more than meets the eye as Khoon Wah explains that these dark trimmings offer both decorative and practical functions. “There’s a window that we wanted to conceal and these design lines are the perfect cover-up.”
