This 710-square-foot apartment at Concourse Skyline has been reimagined by MYNMYN Studio as a serene, gallery-like retreat that feels both intimate and expansive. Designed for a young couple and their dog, the home balances quiet sophistication with understated layers of luxury.

The homeowners, who prioritise quality and a sense of calm, wanted a home that truly reflected how they live. “Their brief was simple yet ambitious,” recalls designer Ivan Soong, adding that the space needed to transform from a one-bedroom unit into a home that felt timeless – free of clutter, visually composed, and meticulously finished.

Ivan began by rethinking the layout to respond to the couple’s brief and the way they live. Every detail, from spatial flow to material texture, was reconsidered to create harmony between function and aesthetics. The once-understated apartment, with its dated bathroom and enclosed bedroom, was stripped down and rebuilt with a restrained material palette and heightened attention to proportion and tactility.

The defining gesture of the home lies in its full-height feature wall – a sleek, continuous element that stretches from the living area through to the kitchen. This single surface anchors the entire space, drawing the eye across the length of the apartment. Its dark, tactile finish creates contrast against the surrounding white walls, amplifying the sense of spaciousness and calm.
The living area feels open yet intentional. A King Living sofa introduces understated comfort, while a Takashi Murakami artwork injects a dash of character – a playful juxtaposition that reflects the owners’ taste for artful expression within a controlled environment. The space remains intentionally uncluttered, allowing light and material texture to take precedence over ornamentation.

Moving into the kitchen, design precision is evident in the layering of finishes. The island’s granite countertop from Lian Hin adds a tactile, grounded quality, while anti-fingerprint laminates from Lamitak ensure durability and effortless maintenance. Despite the unit’s compact footprint, the kitchen reads as spacious due to its clean geometry and minimal junction lines.

In the master bedroom, subtle design gestures heighten the sense of scale. Ivan says: “A mirror, for example, has been inserted by the bay window to amplify light and dimension.” The finishes echo the rest of the home – dark tactility, textured whites, and the occasional accent of brushed metal.

The bathroom, fully overhauled, follows the same principle of refined restraint. A custom integrated sink forms the centrepiece – its seamless surface and sculpted basin eliminating visual clutter while elevating everyday rituals. The effect is one of quiet luxury: understated and enduring.

The transformed home now feels more like a boutique hotel suite than a city apartment: serene yet grounded, minimal yet richly layered. Natural light, open sightlines, and high-quality finishes converge to create a space that feels curated rather than decorated – a reflection of the owners’ philosophy of living well with less.
