D’STAR Design Award crowns its winner

After several tough months of competition, the D’STAR Design Award competition crowned its winner during the FInal Judging showcase on 25 October 2013. The five finalists brought their friend and family for support at the Star Living showroom at Labrador park, where their prototypes have been on display for the last few weeks. The judging panel was made up of veterans in the industry, namely Andrew Pang (Vice Chairman, Design Development SFIC), Jeffrey Ho (Executive Director, DesignSingapore Council), Jerry Low (Founder, A Balcony) and Kenny Koh (Managing Director, Star Furniture).

After a quick presentation from the contestants and a private discussion between the judges, the winner was announced. Elyn Wu, designer of the Yoake Side Table, came out on top and walked away with amazing prizes including a trip to the I Saloni fair at Milan.
