Floor Area: 5,000 sqft
As a family evolves and grows, so does the home. The family living in this semi-detached house at Chiselhurst Grove wanted a house they can call home for many years to come. Interior design firm Space Vision Design came up with a look that eschews trends but plays up on warm materials and expansive spaces. As such, the important factors for a family home were met: a cosy design, large spaces for communal gatherings, and private spaces for quiet introspection.
On the first floor, the shared living and dining rooms have been designed to be a space where the entire family can gather. Food is central in this home, and you can see this in how a large space is allocated to the dining area and dry kitchen.
The star of this house however, is probably the cosy den perched on the top floor of the house. The owner’s personal style is put on the forefront with mementos proudly displayed on the customised open cabinet. This light-filled space becomes a private chamber for rest and relaxation, complete with a min-fridge, lounge chair and an entertainment system.
